In reply to disconnected and anxious, posted by winnie on February 8, 2000, at 15:37:09
I remember what it felt like not being able to get in my car and drive somewhere. I felt very unstable at that time of my life. I am a very anxious person and sometimes it is overwhelming. I was diagnosed as being bipolar. Lamictal has helped me to be less anxious. I have a fear of death not a normal fear, but one that interferes with every day life. I find I can't enjoy life like I should. I constantly think about it and get very anxious. Even though I am taking lamictal, the thoughts are still there and I am trying to find something that will numb that part of the brain.( beer, wine, xanax,etc...). Am seeing a new doc thursday and hope I can find a medicine that can help me with it. I do know that xanax and others are used for anxiety. The xanax is working for me. I am told it can be addictive, but it may not affect some people. You need to see a psychiatrist to diagnose your anxiety, believe me I know what you are going through. Hope you find an answer soon
