I really don't think anything will help the weight gain (I speak from experience). For apathy, I found some relief with Ritalin and Wellbutrin, both of which _can_ be used with an MAOI safely as long as you start with a low dose and go up slowly.
I think bromocriptine is worth a shot too, and it is okay to use with an MAOI too. I think docs don't like to prescribe amantadine because side effects are often a problem on it.
BTW, where did you hear that Nardil downregulates dopamine? Do you have a reference? Very curious...

Something affecting dopamine seems like it would be most promising, as Nardil downregulates the dopaminergic system.

It seems like whenever I do a search on topics like SSRI sexual dysfunction, apathy, augmentation strategies, etc. those two drugs keep coming up over and over again. Several responders in "tips" concerning sexual dysfunction and/or apathy recommend amantadine or bromocriptine. I don't know why no one's actually using them here. Maybe they're just off the beaten path with mainstream doctors. Even my very experienced pdoc has never used them. He quickly brushed me off and changed the subject when I started mentioning those drugs. There's so much encouraging literature about them. I don't understand.
