Cytomel for Depression?

I am on Prozac and Welbutrin. I was on Ritalin for a month with the other two drugs but the insurance started a stink so I had the doctor prescribe something else because I went off the Ritalin because of the insurance. I did so suddenly when I ran out and for two weeks I went through a deep depression. The doctor prescribed the drug Cytomel for me. Has anyone heard of this? I read the information and it says it is a drug to regulate the thyroid. I don't have a thyroid problem. I am being to feel like a chemistry experiment.
