Ruth-
Yes, I too have experienced this phenomenon. I
just added Serzone to a 2-drug combo I'm on for
recurrent unipolar depression and with 6 to 8
weeks, I noticed a slightly more irritable and
intolerant reaction to things. I thought it was
just my depression worsening. But into the 3rd
month, I became chronically angry, hostile, and
downright vicious to others and to myself. When I
tapered off Serzone, I started recovering what I
had lost, so to speak. As one of the other
respondents suggested, its probably a particular
Sz metabolite that simply wasn't for your (or my)
neurochemistry. But, it's all trial and error. I'm
sure Serzone is a fine drug for some folks; I'm
going to have to try another pro-serotonin med.

Best wishes to you. JohnB.
