Karen,
I've been on Wellbutrin 500 mg SR for some time now. The "speedy" feelings have never quite gone away, but they are tolerable. I'm augmenting the Wellbutrin with 450 mg lithium (h.s.) and 150 mg trazodone h.s.. I have noticed that the wierd feelings are behaving a little like HYPO-glycemia, where I feel worse at the end of the afternoon, and it's worse if I eat high-sugar meals, and/or have too much caffeine during the day. Unfortunately, if I'm not sleeping well, they get worse, too. I usually described this to my Dr. as feeling a little dizzy or disoriented, and there are architectural configurations which make things worse-- try walking around the 2nd floor of a shopping mall where the atrium opens to the 1st floor--this "feels" worse, so I stay away from drop-offs like this.

The speedy feeling has diminished with time, but I had to increase my dose of Wellbutrin VERY slowly. Usually, I pushed my Dr. to go to the increased dose, on this one, I stayed at each level for at least 6 weeks before upping the dose. It took a long time to get to the 450 mg I needed for the initial effective level, but I was a little more comfortable that way.

Tell your Dr. that you're having this-- my Dr. originally told me it had only been reported for relatively old (60+?) patients. I also lost weight on the Wellbutrin, (20 lbs over the first 2 years), but that has mostly come back over the last 3 years.
