So when i walk in the forest I see lots of stuff. There's all kinds of fungus and mushrooms now. I seen red ones and brown, tan, orange, yellow, greenish, white, almost black, shrooms. The lichen is mostly green, but some white and bits of orange, but theres diff. kinds. Somes stringy like hair, some looks like lizard skin pieces, some is kindof crinkly.Theres some that grows on little stalks with red on top. And mosses, lots of diff. mosses. All kinds. I sit and stare at a rock and see all these things. It is a WORLD on that rock. So many things on just ONE boulder. And this trail is near the sea. So there is some rocky beach! We seen a dead bald eagle once, and a dead deer. We see live ones too. Seaweeds and logs and shells. If you pick at the seaweed all these sand fleas come jumping everywhere! The arbutus trees, the bark is smooth like a baby bum! The oaks are gnarly and mysterious like halloween when its getting dark. We have birds in flocks called bush t*ts. They fly all around and you can't tell where their peeping is comming from, its so weird. Theres thrushs(bird) that make so much noise scrabbling in the leaves I always think maybe its a bear! The blue herons and cormorants, I think they must've done something bad and God punished them, they have such a horrible croaky squawky noise they make. All these things are in my forests here. I love my forests here. I could write all day and never stop telling of my forests and beaches and sea. Winter, summer, spring, fall, SO so so so much to see.One day I will live in the forest and I will die in the forest and then I will be the forest. Thats is some things about my forest.

this one is more 'scrub' than 'bush' (don't ya have to admire the flourishing gorse bush on the left? they were brought from england for hedges but took off a little too well...)

Your forest sounds beautiful. I particularly loved the description of the lichen. I can see why your inside kid loves it.
There was something in your writing that reminded me of holidays in Nova Scotia when I was a little kid... also near the beach, and pine forests just yards from the sand... It's the opposite coast, of course.
Seems a long time ago. I live far away from all that now.
Thanks for the picture of your forest.
