Remember This

Posted by Susan47 on November 5, 2005, at 12:39:09

"I like your sweater, it's nice and bright. Did someone make that for you your wife or your mother?"
Because I used to do things like that, when I was able to. Making something for someone you love is the ultimate high.
"No, I've had this for quite awhile. I think I bought it myself. We buy each other CD's, that's what we do now."
Oh.
How innocently spoken, but the hand comes up to the tie, the eyes are looking everywhere but at me, there's a what we could call, sheepish .. grin imping around at the corners of his mouth.

Oh, yes.
Truth has two sides.

Might he just have felt embarrassed that all he buys now as gifts are CD's? Made him realize how that might sound to someone else?

Perhaps. But why mention it then, if it's embarrassing?
I think he was simply.. an *ss.

Pssst, wait, if I keep going, it'll all come out. (nm) » gardenergirl
