yesterday blues

Well I woke up Sunday morning
wishing it was Saturday
thinking there was something I could have said
something I could have said to make you stay

this headache in my heart
you know it just won't go away
yes, there's tear stains on the pillow baby
tear stains where your head use to lay

yeah, I cry myself to bed
hurtin for yesterday

I called the Doctor up
he said, "it aint no use.
Ive seen it before and I'll see it again.
You got a case of them yesterday blues."

I went and asked the preacher
He said, "You got no promise of tommorow son."
And I said, "If my baby don't come back soon,
it won't hurt me none."

The preacher replied, "If what you're saying is true,
you need to talk with the lord about them yesterday blues."

Now I got nothin to lean on but this bottle of Jack.
And every drink I take
every drink I take
just brings your memory back

It's not a life I'd choose
but there's nothin left to lose
forever lookin back, with them yesterday blues
