Hi there,
i am new to this site and to prescription anti-depressant meds.
I want to know how they will affect my study and concentration?
at the moment i cannot concentrate at all! my doc said lack of concentration and poor memory are signs of male depression and recommended some antidepressant pills and said that they would make study a lot easier for me...
what do those with similar experiences think?

Gimmeshelter, welcome to the Psychobabble. :-) I think it would be worth a shot to try an antidepressant and see if it helps. Hope ya feel better.

Hi Gimmeshelter,
I think antidepressents have helped me be able to concentrate. Sometimes when you're first on them (I've been on three different ones) you feel sleepy or at least I did, but that didn't last too long in my case. I take anti-anxiety meds before I take tests because I have major test anxiety, too. Anything to help me get those As.

Perhaps you should look into Wellbutrin, which is often prescribed to students for sharper focus and minimal side-effects. I have been taking it for 2 years and have been very successful in grad school (science).
This is the end of the thread.
