LoL
I almost deleted an email just now, because I didn't recognize the name of the sender, and it kinda sounded like yet another "get a degree through email -- send money now!" thing. The subject line was "Academic Standing."
I opened it, though, just in case.
Turns out, they were letting me know that I was named to the Dean's List. I don't think I've ever had ANY recognition before of getting good grades. If I was ever on the Dean's List before, I certainly didn't know it.
Funny how pleased I am, considering it ain't all that grand. I'm still quite stoked.

yay!
congratulations Racer! Fantastic for you:)My favorite ice cream parlor is this mom and pop place. near the cash register is a handwritten sign that if you bring in 2 consecutive report cards
showing improvement from B to an A is worth a single scoop
showing improvement from a C to an A is worth a double scoop and
showing improvment from a D/F to an A is worth a sundae
I've often wondered if I could bring in my university transcript and claim my reward. haha
Well I think the deans list deserves a Sundae :)
kudos :)
hugs for you, superstar!-ll
p.s. I didn't open this letter from my university for a long time, because they are soliciting donations from me (even as I'm still a registered full-time student, the bast*rds!), and it didn't look like a bill, or a grade report, or any of the usual stuff. My husband was going through the pile of mail one day, opened it up, and it was a fancy certificate that I had been admitted to PhD candidacy, signed by dean and all that jazz. (I HATE the dean). That wasn't spam either, I guess!
This is the end of the thread.
