I can't do school. I'm not smart enough. I study and study and study, and I get nothing out of it. My profs ask me if I study at all. I asked him to explain this aparently really important concept and he laughed at me and told me if I didn't know if now, I was in big trouble. I don't know if I'll be back or not after reading week because if I'm not going to make my goals, what's the point of continuing?

Not very professional of the prof. You should make it despite him. Any chance on going for some guidance? I hate to see you quit now.

I went for guidance and they told me to go talk to him. That's why I went. I just got another test back and I failed that one too. At least this prof wants me to go see her. I don't know... I really don't wanna come back after reading week. I know it's the wuss way out, but it's better than failing out

Gee
I'm sorry you're feeling so discouraged. Are you, or can you be involved in some kind of academic assistance thing at your school, some study help or something? I'm sorry that professor was not very helpful, and so insensitive.

I can't get any assistance because no one believes me. I have to have doctors notes, or thearapist notes, or something before I can get any kind of assistance. I went to the councellors on campus, and they didn't really seem to do a whole lot. No one really seems to believe me that I'm a hard time of it. It's really frustrating

(sorry to chime in so late, but this is my first visit to this board.)
Do you have access to tutoring? That might help, if you decided against dropping this class.
When I was in college before, back when the earth's crust was still cooling, I got together study groups, and signed up for tutoring for most of my classes. Doesn't mean I wasn't smart enough to do it alone -- meant I was smart enough to know that I could do a better job of it if I took advantage of those resources.
Good luck.

Sorry for the super-late chime-in, but noone suggested that u might be studying the wrong subject. I was feeling the same as u when I was an econ major, but after some serious introspection coupled with months of therapy and meds I came to realize that I was pursuing econ for the wrong reasons. Now I'm studying audio engineering and music, which are my passions, and I feel mucho bettero...Of course there is still stress, but it is much more manageable.
This is the end of the thread.
