Do y'all write in little chunks or big blocks?

Posted by gardenergirl on October 21, 2005, at 17:14:51

Everyone has told me I need to break the d-word down into smaller parts, which is true. Somebody suggested a goal of 3 pages a day. That certainly seems reasonable, but...I also like to just write and write at times. Of course I can go past 3 pages if I want to...

But at any rate, how do you find that working on bigger projects is for you? Long sessions or a little bit every day?

LOL, the subject line...just made me giggle. I like to make words with blocks! :)

gg

:-)

I like to do both, BUT I think Id do better with little chunks more often. At the moment I work in really sloppy big blocks. little chucks do better work then bigger blocks :-)

And no you cant gg, if you say 3 a day its 3 a day haha

i like to make towers with blocks.

yup. i broke mine down into chapters and section headings.
(which is constantly revised as i actually write the darned thing)

yeah. i don't work for about a week. then i work like a maniac for a couple days. i've always been like that. i wish i could do more of the steady plugging away at it too. i suppose i reccomend... aim for one or two hours a day EDITING and REFERENCING and let the ideas flow whenever they want. Or if you have some summarising to do... Then that can be a 'steady' plugging away at it thing to do as well.

Mix up the strategies I say.

Both. I'd like to aim for a bit of both.
At the moment I'm at the whim of my creative bursts.
