I'm good thanks. I too am pleased that this board is getting a little busier. It really can be useful when you have something studenty to discuss (although I am sadly lacking in topics for discussion at the moment).
I'm sorry about your PDoc Alex, not what anyone needs, especially you, when you have been trying so hard to get things sorted. He wouldn't want to know what I think of him!
Hows the work side of things for you?

Thanks. Turned out he didn't want to know what I thought of him either... Oh well.
> Hows the work side of things for you?Hmm. Am trying to upgrade my Master of Arts Thesis into a Master of Philosophy Thesis. Not sure if you guys have them or not... They are basically one step down from a PhD. What that basically buys me is a 6 month extension and another 20-30,000 words... But I can't do any of my work during this semester as I have too much tutoring. It would be good if I could focus pretty much solely on my work over the B semester and summer. Hopefully that will work out ok. Have a meeting in a couple of weeks to attempt to convince peoples that I have enough material and am going to make a 'significant original contribution to the field'. I think that sounds scairier than it is... At least, I hope so. Eep.
How is your stuff coming on?
Have you decided more on what you are investigating??

It sounds like you have masses on! I'm supposed to be revising, but I haven't got out of bed yet and its 4.30pm...
I've had 2 meetings with my supervisor for my dissertation, and have submitted my proposal for investigating how people search the internet for resources on self injury. It will involve interviewing about 30 'normal' subjects, giving them a scenario in which they feel like harming themselves, then watching them search the internet for what they may find helpful. They will be recorded giving a 'running commentary' of why they use certain search terms and why they click on certain links.
That's the plan anyway! I should be writing my ethics approval soon, I will start researching in June, just after my exams finish.
