wow, manic, I *know* you are a compassionate guy about MH stuff...I have seen it in your writing here. Probelms with food are mental health concerns, too. Potentially deadly even, for some sufferers of certain disorders...
Maybe you have never had, or don't know anyone who has had an addiction, or issues with food. Eating disorders, and/or even just a poor "relationship" with food, i.e., it's not just fuel, but eating serves a lot of other, psychological purposes.
If the whole matter were so easy as just don't eat so much...well, that would be wonderful. My life would be transformed, actually. To me, it is no different than telling an alcoholic, tobacco user, or drug addict to "just stop." I realize some people will disagree with this. Yes - they have to participate and do the hard work on their problem, but can't they post here for support in that, too? (Not that I'm saying the OP has any of these things going on - I have no idea.)
It is not that simple. I can attest to that.
