My name is Patty...I drive a dialup Ford Taurus and my slow dialup connection just cannot adapt to this new twitter! Now when It comes to me, I have to drop by dairy queen in the morning and I do not want to have to get on the nethighway to check my facebook. Now, Dot..come here Dotty and me do not like this "twitter" because me and all the chatter mouths can gossip about all we want with the "big mouth" at Denny's on Saturday night and hear the latest gossip. I'm opting out.

Well then, you gotta go here

and turn **off** the options for the little buttons. If not, you haven't opted out.
Have a good one Patty Sue - you crack me up!! ;-)

To the best of my knowledge, when we choose to 'opt out', it means that our individual posts can't be sent to Twitter or Facebook.
I think we should be aware that once anyone clicks on a post that has been sent to someone's Twitter or Facebook page, when anyone clicks on that, they are 'forwarded' here to PB and can then read all posts on that thread (including those of people who've opted out) and they are now at PB to look around, same as anyone else who comes to babble.
Just wanted to clarify that for people who don't read the Admin board - there's more about it on the Admin Board.
Kath
PS - please correct me if I'm wrong.

Here's a link to Dinah's thread, with a link to the FAQ where you can turn off the little buttons at the bottom of your posts that facilitate FB and Twitter users in linking posts from Babble to their accounts.
However, yes, any post could still end up on Facebook or anywhere else on the internet. This is a public forum. Anyone can cut and paste your post, or post a link (URL) to your post(s) anywhere they like. This has always been true; the addition of the buttons just makes it quicker and easier.
This is the end of the thread.
