I love my dog.

Posted by seldomseen on May 26, 2009, at 12:23:18

Because man, when I don't feel like doing much other than being a couch potato, she is right there with me. She loves to just lie around.

And she is in it for the long haul too. With wreckless abandon she will just sprawl all over the couch. She has to be touching me with some part of her body though.

When I do get up or work, she's like "WTH I thought we were wallowing?" but she'll adapt.

She's a good little buddy. :)

I love mine too. :)

In the mornings I'll often say something like "Doggy and I don't want to get out of bed today. We want to stay in bed alllll day." My husband laughs and accuses the dog of being my puppet, but I rightly point to his blissful stretched out form and my husband has to admit that he does indeed want to stay in bed allll day.

But then my other dog stands at my bedside and barks the second my husband and son leave the house. She thinks sleeping in is dangerous or something. She needs to herd me awake.

My dog is older now, and I'm so happy she's healthy. She's got bright eyes, and you can see the love and interest in them. Dogs are the best. I love them.

Just that I haven't seen seldom & Cass for a bit.

I am MUCH too selfish & lazy to have a dog.

Cats are more my style. HowEVER - my cat who landed on my doorstep & ended up stealing my heart, turns out to be a 'cog' as in part cat but mostly dog.

He follows me around; gazes at me with big soulful eyes & many other doggie-like behaviours. But I don't have to feel guilty for not taking him for walks. He's an indoor cat (as I keep reminding him when he sometimes tries to prove otherwise). I do end up feeling guilty though, when he drags his 'toy' through the house saying "mrrrrup, mrrrup" & drops it about 6 feet away from me!

Dear Cass,

I am so glad you're doing better. I have been at my daughter's since Sunday, so haven't been reading posts here much, but had been missing seeing your name & had been wondering how you were doing.

((((((((you))))))) love, Kath

I've had dogs all my life, and while none of mine right now are that magic one or two in a lifetime, I'm having one of those madly in love stages of dog relationship.

My sweet matriarch. She's really only a few months older than the twins, but appears much much older. She has the bearing of a duchess, until she makes noises like a pig snuffling truffles. Her only flaw is that she's too darn perfect. I feel bad saying that, but I like a bit of imperfection in a dog. However, my son thinks perfect is just perfect, so she's his dog although we all love her.

My baby boy cuddles next to me at night and follows me around all day. His ancestors have been bred for centuries to be ladies muffs. It shows. He's not as devoted as some, but he's my baby.

His sister has tons of problems, but she's so cute. She can curl up to roughly the size of a cinnamon roll. She's daddy's little princess and sleeps next to my husband, and as small as she is, she manages to come close to pushing him out of bed. She looked up at me this morning, with her one remaining large and expressive eye, while the rest of her was tightly curled in a ball. It was such an improbable sight and absolutely adorable.

My sheepdog might end up becoming one of those special dogs in my life. We're becoming more and more attuned to each other. She makes me laugh. And she makes me feel loved in that intense sheepdog way. I wake up to her barking insistently that it's time to get up, and even though I am not a morning person, I wake up with a laugh. She is totally opposed to the sybaritic lifestyle I prefer, and teases me out of it whenever possible.

It's one of those absolutely fabulous ensemble cast of dogs that come along now and again.
