Hi All,
Ya know sometimes people ask me how old my cat is, and I always convert it to people years so they don't have to. I just say he's 28 (4X7=28). So I just read an 07 study that points out that there is a shortened lifespan in people with serious mental problems, by 25 years. Here's my dilemma. When someone asks me my age (I'm 54), should I go ahead and convert it to depression years? I haven't done the all the math yet, but I think I'm really like 75. To my way of thinking this should be legal to get me the special lunch discount at the Waffle House.

I like the way you think. Do you get credit for time spent in remission? ugh..the thought of shortened years is depressing!

I just wouldn't allow that thought in my head. I'd evict it by saying that no one understands time, although I'd entertain Eliot saying 'Ridiculous, the waste sad time stretching before and after.' Basically no one gets in unless they're TS Eliot or King Lear.
