It's lovely that those of us who are here ARE.
:-))))
I miss those of us who I haven't seen for a while.
Feels like family here to me, so I miss lots of family members!
:-) Hugs to all, Kath

I'm not only busy at work (again), but I started a new hobby! So right now I'm knee deep in stained glass, at least mentally. :)

Oh, this is dispiriting. (I'm so prone to envy.) You are actually doing something, making stained glass from the looks of it.
The rest of us (I'm at it again, building up alliances) are waiting around for something to happen.

No need to be envious. I have a habit of enthusiasms. It remains to be seen if it will last. It's fun right now, but I'm just learning. And my husband is none too keen on the mess.
I'm sure everyone's busy with their lives. I was just sharing what I was busy doing right now.

Glad to hear about the stain glass Dinah.
It's sunny more days now, thank goodness; even though still very cold.
Once it gets warmer, I'm hoping to get outdoors more often...looking forward a little bit to gardening. Feel a bit 'stuck' today emotionally.
I'm making a lot of small dishes for the pottery sale in May. A lot of butterflies, which I love painting.
:-) Kath

I've been hiding out
trying to pick a different career
today I mopped the whole apartment, washed the dishes and threw out some food that has been living in my freezer for about a year now (ewww)
I decided I have too many things
I need to get rid of some things, but now I'm too tired
another day perhaps

Wow Sid - I need you at my house!
Occasionally I get into a roll & get a lot done. It sure feels great when that happens.
Good for you! Did you get a good sleep the other night? It sounded like maybe you were going to use a cpak machine?
Anyway, hope you got a good sleep.
hugs, Kath

I've recently ordered a book on simple wood carving.
I remember when I was young that my father did wood carving...one of only a few memories.I hope you're wearing safety goggles Dinah :-)

yeah, I've been making a concerted effort to get more sleep.
sleeping during the day though is one of my favorite ways to avoid things.
so night sleep=good
day sleep=bad

Hiya sid,
> sleeping during the day though is one of my favorite ways to avoid things.
Me, too. I love naps. But some are more 'legit' - the "I AM tired" kind, and some are avoidance naps where I really didn't "need" the sleep but did it anyway. Not my favorite habit, but I am going through a bout of weird insomnia that acts a different way all the time, sometimes can't fall asleep, sometimes wake at 4 am for no reason, etc. So I figure I ought to give myself a break because if I'm not sleeping at night, though I'm trying to have good sleep hygiene and all that stuff, well, guess my body is *really* tired during the day.
> so night sleep=good
> day sleep=badWhy so hard on yourself? Maybe night sleep=best and healthiest, day sleep=naps okay sometimes [in moderation]
I am saying that to you - hate to see anyone call something as natural as sleep "bad" - but I am saying to to me, too. I'm glad you're trying to get more sleep at night. Sounds like you have had some insomnia issues? Or anxiety at night - I *hate* that when I am supposed to be relaxing... Me - I have a silly, inexplicable tendency to stay up till 2 or 3 am, usually messing around online or watching mindless TV, even if I am tired, then you can imagine the vicious cycle that starts the next day....
I sure am great at sabotaging myself. But we're not bad......right????
just my ramblings....

One of my friends and her Dad did woodcarving together. It sounds like a good way to get in touch with good memories.
Definitely safety goggles. :)

My son's done pottery wheel work at camp and school. Just basic stuff of course, but he really enjoyed the process of creation with it.
So far I like cutting and grinding, and of course choosing patterns and glass. But I *hate* soldering. It was the part I was always scared of, and I can see the potential for really hurting myself. Plus I'm just not good at it. I have a feeling I'm going to have to do a lot of small stuff I don't mind throwing away before I attack anything I care about with solder. :(
And my garage is dark and lonely and smells a bit. I suppose I ought to do something about the dark and smelly thing first. My husband's got it packed full of stuff from his parents' house which flooded, so it's a bit moldy. And maybe some of those rubber tiles near the workbench, since nearly everything has to be done while standing.
Hmmm... sounds like my enthusiasm is waning.
I'd love to be able to garden before it gets too hot to even think about it. :) I really want to redefine my flowerbed borders, which is such a project!

Hi Dinah,
WOW - I'm impressed that your son has done WHEEL work!!!! I took ages to be able to learn to 'centre' the clay on the wheel!!! Finally one of the potters took me to her house & sat me in front of her wheel & put a blindfold over my eyes. It worked!!! LOL
Good idea to try some small projects first.
Good to be careful about the mold. Being exposed to mold isn't the greatest for us.
It'd be lovely to see some of the things you make.
Hugs, Kath
