whent fishing an a mallard duck took my bait. no lie it was flying in circles like a model plane.i reeled him down but he had swolloed the hook way down i cut as far down his throat with the scisors an cut the line. the guys on the bank were pi==ing themselves.the duck was ok other than a bad case of the sh=ts.an sailed of to jion its buddies,strange i never hooked a fish after that. manic666

hahaahahaahahaaa so sorry I know this is bad to laugh but can't help it. when i reread your post and visualized the duck like a model plane flying in a perfect circle in the air, omg i'd be like the guys on the bank. but I understand it musta freaked you out and good job in doing what you could to help ducky out.
