Currnet Life right now is numb.....

Posted by your#1fan on January 22, 2008, at 23:40:18

Well, i havent talked much with many people on pbabble because of stress, too much stuff going on!

I just feel this feeling that i have nothing to look forward too....... i think its a lack of dopamine. I mean this is the worst kinda of depression when you kinda irrtible, and depressed at the same time. I just wished i had something to look forward too....

Life just seems numb, get up go to class, work, sleep, no enjoyment. I have to make things intresting.

Well goodness, ill have a therpist soon, which ill talk her ears off about my life.

I just feel so down and irrtible. Ugh, its the house i live in, i dont feel in control of my life, (im 20) i need to be moved out by 21. I just love all this...., and alot of other reasons. I have deal with mommie dearest, i've made some bad choices with my family, but the reason is because i want to get out into the world. But at the same time family i miss.

Im smiling and laughing at the same right now....its just im so frustrated. And no therpist is going to be able to talk 24/7.

Wish me luck.

irrtible fan

I've been there, its not a good place. I hope you feel better soon.

That's great! That will be a big help I think.

I totally get that too. Let me tell you, getting out of a bad environment will change your life in ways you never imagined. You can always still see the family, but when YOU want! I hope things get better for you soon! Hang in there!

Hi Fan,

I think LOTS of people have to work at making things interesting in their lives. Sounds like you're pretty busy with school and work.

Do you have time to see what clubs/interest groups might be available in your school? Is there something you know you're interested in? That might be a start.

hugs, Kath

Hey, Kiddo.

When you say you have to be out by age 21, is that *your* goal, or was that target set by your mother? I do think you'll be surprised by how different life is when you're out on your own, but if it's a goal you've set for yourself, there are a few things you can do *now* to help prepare yourself.

One thing I'd recommend is to start now practicing some of those life skills you'll need when you're living on your own. Do your own housekeeping and laundry; pay your own internet and telephone bills; pay some rent to your mother; pay your own car insurance. Those are things you'll have to do if you live away from home, so getting into the habit now will be very good practice for you.

I was shocked, when I first lived alone, at how very different it was not having someone else around. Admittedly, I lived alone, not with roommates, so that's a bit different.

Also, the sad truth is that an awful lot of life is just not exciting. Learning to cope with the dreary routine of getting up, going to work/school, coming home, going to bed, and then getting up to do it all again, can be hard. The best ways I found to cope with those things were consciously wrapping my brain around the idea that life was often rather dull, and collecting hobbies and interests to help fill in the quiet times. It was easier for me than for a lot of people, because I have always read a lot, but anyone can find *something* to do. When I lived alone, I never had a TV, because I didn't want to fall into the habit of using the TV for company. I did watch TV, but I had to be around others to do so.

I'm glad to hear you're going to be getting a therapist. Do you know when that will start?

Good luck.

Hey fan invitation still open. No grass cutting. Oh course I'm joking but you will probably like living away from home and visiting. Phillipa
