I am 18....have missed all of secondary school..after losing 2 people I loved and no being allowed to express my grief. i got depressed..was also abused at home/neglected.I didn't have any relatives to help...nor any friends...everyone bullied me in primary..no-one stopped it and I became terrified of people.
I'm in a terrible situation. I am 18..have got NO EDUCATION whatsoever..haven't been out of the house for years and years nor met anyone....I don't even know basic stuff like how to use a bus, cook, use a washing machine because no-one's ever taught me. I don't have a clue how to do ANYTHING . I don't know how to get out of this situation and am absolutely terrified. there is no-one in my life. I don't have a clue how to fix my education either. what am I going to do? even if I stay at home...and try to fix my education....no-one will suport me/but me stuff/help me. I'm REALLY REALLY scared ...and have been for years....only no-one's helped me/I haven't known what to do. HELP!!!! I might as well be dead.worst of all..I think my mind is begginning to shut down.. I don't know who I am anymore. PLEASE HELP!!!

hi. sorry to hear you're having difficulities. On a positive note....You apparently have access to a computer and know how to use it; you seem quite literate and articulate. at 18 you still have a whole lotta life ahead and time to straighten things out. Are you in the USA? There are scads of programs disigned to help you get a high school diploma. As far as your living situation...get in touch with Social services or any number of charities equipped to help you. You might want to contact your local mental health center as you might benefit from therapy and or meds. You should be able to find out a great deal about most of this online, so you would have a minimum of face to face initially. You can always come to Babble for info or if you just want to bounce things around and talk to someone Good luck.

And I'm sure that as you've figured out how to switch on a computer and register for babble, using a washing machine will be a piece of cake! I'm sure you have alot more skills that you're aware of.

Can you go to a public library and get some materials to study for a high school equivalency degree or certificate.
Isn't truancy illegal? If you really wanted some stress, you could try to get the law to punish your family for denying you the constitutional right to education.
My advice is to avoid the stress, since you're scared enough already. Find a source of IRL support. County social services sounds like a good place to start. The public library is a wonderful safe place to spend time and have computer access and access to the aforementioned Russian Novels.

Quite right. Join the local library. The people who have written books are often really strange. You can educate yourself, and it's very interesting, this world we live in, maybe a little too interesting. Where does 'Hell is other people' come from? That's not Nausea, is it, that might be "Huis Clos"

Where did you go?
Wonder where are living (Are you in a home left to you by a family member who has passed away?) and where getting money?
Hope you have a phone so you can get in touch w/ organizations mentioned to you and find out what to expect when you get there.

no, I'm 18 ..and still living with my parents. also...I fell in love with this boy in my last year of primary school...I couldn't get over him......now I've ruined my education....I'm in a situation where it is likely that I will bump into him again...he also may be looking for me...he's studying A levels and a degree...he'll NEVER like me now. i still love him though. I don't know what to do. I need to get away from him. I feel sick
