For kid or anyone interested,

Life at the Cleaver’s has been a bit out of the ordinary lately, but we’re getting back on track.

Ward was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy (or Berger’s Disease). It’s an autoimmune disease that’s affecting his kidney function. In order to reduce the damage being done to his kidneys, he needs to take medication for hypertension, lots of fish oil, and switch to a low-protein diet. Hopefully, with these changes, he’ll avoid being in the 25% that eventually need dialysis.

He also started a new job in June that requires a little more travel than he’s done in the past.

I know how excited you’ll be to hear The Beav is now wearing underwear with very few accidents. The Batman boxer briefs are his favorite. Bet you wish you had a pair. He starts preschool in a couple of weeks.

I’m swamped at work, as you can probably tell by my mid-day posting at Babble. I was in San Diego earlier this week for two days of work and two days of fun.

I’ve noticed you’ve been kind of hard on yourself lately. Try to take it easy. I know eventually you’ll find the right someone. I mean, have you already forgotten how irresistible those calculator watches are? (Quit rolling your eyes at me. I find it near impossible to write a post to you without mentioning them.)

Nice to see you around, too. Keep posting. You make me laugh...in a good way, of course. :)

Take care,
Laurie
