SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT TROPICAL DEPRESSION FOUR HAS STRENGTHENED INTO A TROPICAL STORM. JULY 5 IS THE EARLIEST DATE ON RECORD FOR 4 NAMED STORMS TO HAVE FORMED IN THE ATLANTIC BASIN.
