Who knows the most ethical, ideal organization through whom to sponsor a child? Please share your experiences and knowledge, anyone and everyone.

I don't have much to share, but need to. It's time to start giving back, and I'm just feeling very touched to do that. (Bad wording but oh well).

Susan,

Christian Children's Fund is consistently named one the best run charities in the world. They have a stirling reputation.

Thanks I'lllook into them as soon as possible.
I'm hiding this next issue in my posts I'm not sure why yet but I'll figure it out.
My eldest child is 21 years old today. He's across the country in Ontario. I didn't send him a card because I kept forgetting. His father hasn't had anything to do with either us since he was six months old. I remember his birth, today. I remember being in labour for many hours, alone in the hospital. My husband coming in because I phoned and asked him to. He didn't feel like I wanted him there, he said. My baby's first wide-open look from the bottom of the table, directly into my eyes. His big, quiet eyes.
They were gray for the first while. Now I'm crying my eyes out. Jesus.

Humour?

It was my son who was six months old, not my husband. I'm out of practice, and an idiot.

Goodbye

Dr. Hsiung, excuse me, I called myself something bad and I'm sorry. This is a very bad day for me, I promise to stay away until I learn some better manners. And no, I'm not being sarcastic, this is me. :)

Hi Susan,
Welcome back. I wish there were some way your son could read this post and hear you speak from the heart. But something tells me he knows how you feel already. Could you call him or is it complicated?

Oh, Toph, thank you

Yes, I will call him, I'm not completely gone yet, today. Been toking all day steadily, to keep the endorphins going, as soon as it's gone I just want life to disappear. So, toking, dancing around, making stew (my 8 year-old's favourite, I've asked if they can stay for supper tonight, hopefully ex- will be supportive) also trying to tide paperwork, going to pick the youngest two up from school at three. Anthology of Bread, over and over, and BION, Madonna, she's a fabulous artist. That's why she made money, plus she was smart, but she has more than a smidge of true talent, I've made a donkey's ear of myself now, I hope it's okay to say that, if Dr. Bob sends me a whatever, I'll apologize right away.
I love you Toph. I hope it's all right to say that, too.

Geez, I'm a case today.

I've sponsored a child with CCF, can I let you know some details when I get them? I mean, boy, girl, country, etc? It's kind of exciting, really. We make a difference on Babble, we touch all kinds of people's lives, and now I can do it some more..

OK, made me blush. I'd say that I love you too Susan but I think I told you that Susan is my ex's name so it's a little hard getting that out. Then there's all that macho male sh;t that makes it hard to say those words to my wife, and even my kids who I would die for. But for some strange reason I can say I love you to my dog, go figure. Hey, Susan, I'm a little worried about you, the tone of your posts has changed. I hope you're OK. Maybe you're just pissed at Bob for unfairly blocking you. Doesn't it seem odd that a place designed for support would block someone for something so petty as pseudo-vulgarity when you could really be in trouble and need to talk with someone you have formed a relationship with here and you have no way of contacting them? Bob would never admit it but he probably feels bad for what he did. I mean if he talked with you about it and simply said, "Susan, the dictionary calls @ss vulgar and you can say it if you conceal it, so would you please either use another word to describe yourself or conceal the word?" I think you would have complied. I suppose it would be tiresome to speak to all his Babblers personally, so making an example of you is just easier. I don't want to rile you up so that you may say something that will get you in trouble. I'd like to have you stick around. I gotta go. So, it's like I'd say to my dog.
