Hi Babblers!
After my recent stay at the hospital we (me and my alters) had a little chat. I gained alot of insight from it, and thought that it might help someone else who is in a suicidal depression. Because I'm a multiple, the terms I and We can have somewhat different meanings than for most people, but if you keep in mind that WE means me and my alters, and not me and other people.
Here it is....I need to remind myself often that WE don't want to die. WE don't like the pain we feel, especially that which we've felt recently.
What are WE going to do about it?
WE need to remember that the past is gone. It was, and is painfull. Suicide ends everything, along with any future chances of feeling good.
Living means hope. Living means that the depression may go away; dying means it didn't.
Living means we may have the opportunity to go back to school; dying means we never tried.
Living means we might find someone to love, someone to share the rest of our life with; dying means our chance for love gave way to despair.
Living brings a chance to have a meaningful career; dying means that whatever I may yet have brought to the world will go unseen.
Living means a hope for life, friendship, family, career and learning. Living brings a chance of seeing the pain come to an end. Dying means all of it, the bad, along with the good end here.
Life, even mine, even ours ( me and my inner family ) is precious.

Those sound like really good thoughts. Sounds like a very productive, although perhaps difficult(?) conversation. I'm really glad you are doing better.
Take care,
gg
