the funniest moments are usually not funny when told to others....Location - Rural seaside art gallery only 2 people in gallery , me and c. Displaying not exactly painting by numbers , but damn close (not that I say that's not art folks in its own theraputic way.)
We viewed in complete silence the windswept landscapes the snow laiden gates , pathways leading the eye to a welcoming light , how nice , lovely . Oh and I musn't forget the spectacular storm and lighthouse the friendly faithful dogs , frisky cats and horses , all of them anatomically-freaky but drawn with the intention of precision.
Then the DUCK!.....
A small well framed little gem amongst other feathered fowl delights . The well-centred canvas-filled DUCK.
I turned to c and just said...... bland. Was it the timing , the tone , the lack of expression on my face , the word bland in a vacuum of silence ?
C used to salivate excessively when she laughed nothing could stop that torrent of laughter We laughed the too much it's mad now laugh , beyond - where the laugh no longer is a reaction to a humorous moment but an instoppable force . Laughing at laughing . Our faces hurt , no noise came from our mouths we shook like freezing monkeys on acid . We couldn't move to get out of that hellish place we needed air. It was frightening , no longer a pleasing sanctury out from the rain but there were so many obstacles so many dull talentless art just shouting BLAND.
We were dying in such pain almost horizontal with laughter. The owner we think got scared , I mean 2 people in the shop ! He hid in the shadows of his framing den and obviously thought that we were mental or too ignorant to appreciate the finer persuits of aged old wise dears painting on a sunday , framing on a monday .
Mentally ill we literally were....but c's illness went too far for me to reach.... my last good memory of c.

Hey, CtrlAltDlt,
Wonderful anecdote. It brings to mind those experiences, how few and precious they are. Everything you say causes the other person to crack up, no matter how mundane, billboards advertising banks are hysterical, til it's almost esp, doing it on a bus, your own little world, picking up snatches of conversation by the couple seated behind you is painful in its hilarity, and you can't help yourselves you start repeating every sentence w/ tears in your eyes, sputtering
What are we having for supper tonight?
over and over w/ mounting hysteria, the couple behind you looking more disturbed and offended by the minute but you can't stop and the best part is how What are we having for supper tonight becomes your code, your bond, anytime, anyplace one of you says What are we having for supper tonight it's an instant riot.
Is it me, or is that true love?trouble

Please write that one down.
Whoever is recording trouble.
I would, but I'm supposed to be working on my own book. Oh, girl, let me start your fan club.
