Dream about therapy?

Posted by yellowbird01 on June 20, 2012, at 13:14:45

I had an interesting dream last night, shortly before waking up. I dont remember much., but I found it interesting. If anyone here knows anything about dream analysis or has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them!

Simply, I was at my therapists office. She wasnt present. I cant remember exactly what I was doing there, but I was okay to be there and hadnt snuck in or anything. In my dream, I remember being in her office and suddenly everything was white. Not a stark bright white, but a slightly fuzzy, blurred white. Difficult to describe. I remember in my dream noting it and thinking it was weird and leaving shortly after.. but not because I was upset or scared or anything. Just weird. I think I woke up shortly after this.

Any thoughts? I dont typically get too into dream analysis, but I found this interesting. Some significant things have been happening in therapy recently, and I did see T yesterday, and had some reactions/felt triggered about how the session went... but i dont want to share those details yet. I'd rather hear if anyone has any thoughts about what this might mean?

Well, as my p-doc always said, the question is what the dream meant to you. What emotions came up? Maybe you're ambivalent about what's happening in therapy and so felt weird and uncertain in your dream.

Good question. I'm not really sure. In the end, after I posted this, I've ended up terminating my therapy with my T due to repeated "mistakes" that have shaken my trust too hard to rebuild. It was a long term relationship, but everyone has their limit and I guess I reached mine. On to the T search again.

Thanks for responding. :)
