Here goes...
My Dx is Schizoaffective disorder. I have a great pdoc. I don't have such a good T. For starters, she is a social worker. I can't afford a psychologist and the wonderful state I live in is no damn help at all!
Well, I have plenty of issues that this person is just not capable of addressing. She is marginally helpfull as far as helping me with parenting skills. anything else and it just turns into a waste of time.
What am I going to do? On one hand, something is better than nothing. On the other, its not helping.

Is there any possibility of working with a different social worker? One with more experience perhaps? There really are some good ones out there. I'd look for one in a large practice which also has psychologists in it, so she/he gets lots of supervision.
Also, licensing for social workers varies across states. Search Google on your state's name and something like "professional licensing". Look up social workers and find out the highest level of licnse. It may be Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Then try to find one of those.
Take care, emmy
