Hi,
I am taking dexamphetamine along with a few other meds and i've found that whenever I drink, which is rarely, it screws my whole night up! I go completely flat and my social anxiety returns. I'm not a regular drinker, never have been, but it would be so nice to go out to a club or bar and let my hair down occasionally. If i'm stone cold sober the music sounds too loud and i'm ready to leave after an hour.
Can anyone relate to this and is there anything i can have that would give me a bit of a buzz and allow me to keep up with my friends? I feel like soda without the fizz on a night out.

That is odd, in the sense that they mix well for me.

One possibility is that you are actually experiencing the rebound ("comedown") from the amphetamine. How long before going out do you take it?

Prozac 15mg
Memantine 20mg
Amisulpride 50mg
Seroquel 25mg (for sleep)I take 60mg Dex 15mg QID
Iwas taking Finasteride (Propecia) for hair loss but came off a year ago. Apparently that takes away the rewarding affects of alcohol!

Yes it prevented further loss, but i didn't regain very much. Have felt better all round for coming off. Finasteride, has been shown to cause depression after prolonged use. Even in people without a psychiatric history. So yes definitely avoid!
