Hi everyone. I'm feeling really down on myself nowadays. I'm doing well in school but I feel like everything is "wrong" in my life...
Long story short, I just don't feel the least bit happy. Much of the time I feel really tearful and lonely. Then, because I feel sad and down on myself, I have a hard time making friends, or socializing with the ones I have, because I feel that I'm not good company and all I can think about is my problems. I just have so little in my life right now. I'm lonely and sad. Help!

Of course you're good company!! Don't be so hard on yourself, which is a well worn cliche, but its true. If you think you're miserable company, then you will be. You sound like a really nice person! Please please please read some books on positive thinking. Anything! It'll help loads and loads.
I'm currently reading something by Louise Hay. She's pretty cool.
Kind regards
Meri

Danna,
This might be hard to take, but I don't think medications will help you in the long-term. You really have to work hard loving and accepting yourself. Its not going to come from a pill. Please read some of these books I've mentioned. Particulary the Louise Hay one. It can't be that bad, surely, to look through a book? At least books don't have side effects. I really think they'll help you.
Personally, I'll try anything that may help me.
Kind regards
Meri

Thanks everyone, for your thoughts. Somehow I don't seem to get that much out of self-help books. I'm not sure why? I did read one book by Louise Hay, Fearless Loving. But I'm afraid I'm still a "fearful lover" haha.
Anyway, it's nice that I can always come on here and talk about things if I have to.

I keep getting depressed...it never seems to get better and I just find myself floundering...my career is going nowhere, there's no man in my life, always having anxiety attacks, etc. etc. I know there are worse problems in life and that my perspective is the real problem, but it is just horrid to feel so BAD all of the time. I can understand all of this on an objective basis, but emotionally I still feel rotten. No matter what I accomplish I just focus on the negative.
Anyway, enough about me. How are you doing, Phillipa??
