Life is not something we should expect to happen nor should we expect things from it. Life is what we live as it happens. We can hope for better days, but shouldn't expect them. We make it what is moment by moment. For each moment we live, we have *succeeded* in something. That in itself should make us proud and build self-esteem.

I do expect things, but I don't count on them. Or half-expect, half-dread - something good, something bad.
I wish I could hope, but not expect---if that meant hoping for something, but being ready for whatever happened and trusting that you could be equal whatever it was. Thanks for your thought, curtm.

The weekend was quite long and boring at times, but there was a special moment I spent with my son and his friends making things out of an erector-type set for younger children. They also have almost the entire driveway colored with chalk now. It's really cool.
Anyone else want to share?

My moment is right now:
the guy in my office has some Yankee Doodle country music on his headphones, barely audible. There is a gentle breeze wafting in through the window, and I can here the cicadas from my office in the treetops.
Dappled sunlight on my desk.
This is the end of the thread.
