OK -- Tell three things you admire about yourself

Posted by Racer on September 3, 2006, at 13:43:49

And I'll start:

1. When I teach riding, I can empathize with students, and often can tell them something in a new way that gets it across to them because of it. I can feel how my body would feel doing what they're doing, and tell them what they can do to correct it. I can also help them find their confidence, and feel much better about themselves by it.

2. I can often find connections between things, or put new ideas into context without a lot of help. I'm pretty pleased by that when I can do it. (Of course, I'm devastated and feel like a Compleat Failure when I can't...)

3. I'm good with animals.

Who's next?

1) I am proud that I am good with designing, building and drawing things that are mechanical or structural.

2) I am proud that I am a good creative cook. I am good at improvising a great meal too.

3) I think I am a pretty good father and try to make my children's life's easy and enjoyable.

1) I've learned to forgive myself, which makes forgiving anyone else easy.

2) I've learned that my friends often have a more accurate view of who I am and I've learned to trust their judgment.

3) I practice civil disobedience playfully.

1. I sought treatment for my depression

2. I just organized my pills and vitamins

3. I've worked on letting my marriage grow up healthy and strong, despite the model I had growing up.

That was a really hard exercise.

This is hard for me, and that's exactly why I'm forcing myself to do it. So here it goes.

1. I dont give up on getting things I really want... whether it be finding good treatment (my biggest one recently) or anything else. I will keep calling and stopping by and whatever it takes.

2. I go to ballet every week. I'm 23 years old and take classes with girls who are 12-17 and many are MUCH better than me. I started late. But I do my best and keep going back, even when it's hard, both physically and mentally. Plus, in three years of classes, I HAVE learned a good amount.

3. I mostly raised myself when it comes to morals, behaving in fair/kind/appropriate/etc ways, and things like that, and overall, I think I did a great job.
