I have an 8yr.son who has adhd, odd, ocd and bipolar disorder. We've tried everything to help him and he is about to be kicked out of school.I have back problems and I cannot pull on him.He will not listen to me.I have to call my husband home in the mornings just to get him out of bed.I need help.If you have any suggestions please feel free to share them.

Could you get social services to help you out. Have you googled schools for diagnoses that your Son has?Good luck. And have you tried the parents board? Fondly, Phillipa

You might try www.brainplace.com and posting to the forums and try www.addforums.com and posting to the parents forums there. Also post this in psychology on Babble?

good luck!

Un-Schooling

you might want to google "unschooling" or "un-schooling". Its a whole movement devoted to moving away the authoritarian, conformist set-up of today's mainstream schools towards something more humane (but still educational) and empowering. I wish I had been "un-schooled" as a kid. I think adbuster's did an article or two on them a couple months ago (www.adbusters.org)...you might find the article online, or you maybe you could order a back-issue. Good luck!
