Is there something about the youngest siblings?

Posted by happyflower on September 11, 2005, at 12:22:19

YOu know I wonder if it has something to do with being the youngest. But do you find that the youngest sibling is always a crier when playing games like if they lose. My son is like this, he totally get frusterated if he doesn't win, my stepson was like this too. Thank goodness he grew out of it. And my DH said his youngest brother was like that too. I don't know maybe it is something to do with his genes or something.

I'm sure it's just from being the youngest. Mine does it too.

There have been books written on how we all interact according to our birth order. The only one I think of is "The Birth Order Book". Very insightful reading, plus you can see why some of us act the way we do!

i've noticed that too...
but the situation i was noticing...
the older child had an awful lot to learn about being a good winner.
and an awful lot to learn about going easier on his younger brother...
it would be frustrating to lose *all* the time.

I have two boys', they are 4 years apart.

My youngest son isn't like that BUT because his older brother is disabled, he has taken on the "older child" role.

So although he's the youngest, he's the "little, big brother." If that makes sense.

I think if there is more than a certain # of years between siblings, the first born thing kicks in again and the cycle continues from there.
