Welcome

Hi,

There are lots of special issues with children and adolescents, so I thought it made sense to create a separate message board for those discussions. It's an experiment, let's see how it goes...

Hi Dr. Bob, Thx for creating this space. I have a question as to how you see this area being used.

- for medical/pharmaceutical questions/comments about our kids' depression, etc.

- for asking questions, telling our worries, etc. about regular life issues that are causing us tremendous stresses in our lives & contributing to our depression/anxiety

For ex. I had alot of trouble with my 16 yr old son. He used marijuana chronically, wasn't going to school, broke houserules, went missing for 4 days, broke into the house & finally stole $160 from my purse. We 'kicked' him out, allowed him to sleep in the backyard & he eventually found an 'independent living' house (government funded) with structure, rules, staff, to live at. Where do you think I'd post during those kinds of stresses? I needed a great deal of support with this.

Another question. Is it okay to still post non-medical stuff on the main PB board? I recently had a sexual assault issue with an elderly family member. I needed & got a tremendous amount of support about that issue. If I had posted it on the other new PB area, maybe not as many people would have seen/answered it.

Thx for providing PB. It's extremely useful & probably in some cases life-saving. :-)

Both! For now, anyway. If it gets really busy here, too, then it might make sense to split it up, but let's cross that bridge if we come to it.

The idea is for posts like that to go to Psychosocial-Babble. It's a little chicken-and-egg. I'm hoping it becomes supportive, too. But it won't if nobody posts there!

Maybe a compromise would be to post your post there, but to post a request on the main board to check there?

WOWZA !!!!

I did a double take just now and thought I had seen incorrectly. I got the fright of my life when I saw parents and the little yellow new.

I am actually taking a bit of a posting break but just have to thank you so very much for creating this board.

I am sure it will be well supported.

Thanks again Dr Bob.

Sabrina
