Ok i am planning linseed oil and fish oil, high dosage.
Dosage? I want to turn my bloodwork weakness (Triglycerides and Cholesterol) into a strength (Meaning low levels).
Please dosage advice.

I think you need at least 4 grams fish oil. Vitamin E (preferably natural form, with mixed tocopherols) would be a good addition, since fish oil can deplete E to a certain extent.
What else...maybe high dose time release C? I do that, in 2 doses (9 grams each now). Plays nicely with vitamin E. Throw in a b-100 and some high dose niacin/niacinamide, and you've got yourself a basic Orthomolecular protocol.

Hi Christ empowered,
i am desperately looking for a good multi-vitamin as i think it is almost impossible to get all you need from single supplements.
I have read that the WHO recommends 0.5g of DHA and 0.5g of EPA. So i will make sure i get that. Also for ALA they recommend 1.1g. I will take 1.2...
Other than that, i have a multi vitamin with both vitamins and minerals. I wish i could get a multi for the vitamins and a multi for the minerals in two separate products. That way i can easier control how much i get of each vitamin/mineral and avoid getting too much of any of them.
I do take more than 100%RDA of E and C already in my current multi-vitamin.
Do you know good products??

Lamdage22,
According to WebMD, several studies have shown that niacin can effectively raise good HDL cholesterol and effectively reduce triglycerides and that it can also modestly reduce bad LDL cholesterol. Niacin, however, is not without risks when taken at the doses needed to affect cholesterol numbers. Here's a link to the WebMD article:
http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-and-supplements/lifestyle-guide-11/supplement-guide-niacin
The WebMD article only briefly mentions the flushing that niacin can cause, but I can say from personal experience that if you're susceptible to the flush, it can be extremely uncomfortable. I sometimes get flushing with the 250 mg of niacin that I take (even when taking my niacin at three separate intervals each day), but it's not usually too bad.
Have you ever taken niacin? Also, did your doctor recommend anything for controlling your cholesterol and triglycerides?

Yeah, he recommended exercise. But im too depressed for that.
I dont think i will take niacin. It should lower mortality, not raise it. Do DHA EPA and ALA lower mortality if one has high triglycerides/cholesterol?
Thats the question, not only if it fights the blood values.

Thanks for your reply. I can certainly understand not wanting to take niacin, if it does indeed raise mortality rates. Unfortunately, I'm not well versed on the research on fish oil and omega-3 fatty acids as it relates to mortality. I tried searching for information on fish oil and longevity and came up with some conflicting information, and it seems to me that it would probably take someone with a strong science background to properly sort through the studies that have been done on omega-3 fatty acids and longevity and answer your question. Maybe somebody else here can do that, but I don't feel qualified to analyze the data, which seem to be conflicting.
I hope that you can find the answers that you're looking for.

I had already eaten that day when the doc drew blood.
Im having another test tomorrow. Its prolly not that bad and it will subside due to increasingly lower AP dosages and due to 1500mg Metformin.
Metformin equals better nutrition for me!

Good luck, Lamdage22. I hope that the test results will come back without any problems. Please feel free to keep us posted on what comes back.

> TomatheusMy nutrition is improving rapidly. I now take 5 mg Zyprexa and 775mg Seroquel. The Metformin really does its job nicely.
I will move down to say, 725mg Seroquel and then reduce Zyprexa to 2.5 and increase Seroquel back to 900. Then again moving down with Seroquel gradually to 725mgs. Then 900 Seroquel and 0 Zyprexa.
And then my slow decent will start with the Seroquel. I expect to really lose all the AP weight when i hit 400mg of Seroquel only.
Looking forward :) My triglycerides and cholesterol should really improve then as well.

Lamdage22,
It's great to hear about the improvements to your nutrition. I hope that they'll continue, and I wish you luck with your medication adjustments.
