A number of Babblers have tried it.

A year ago the FDA approved a new form of rTMS called Deep TMS. It penetrates 6 or 7 cm into the brain, compared to 1.5 cm with standard rTMS.
And there's a new protocol called "priming stimulation" that appears to significantly improve the effectiveness of rTMS.

Just started TMS last week and expect to have 30 treatments which takes me into April. I'm at the end of my treatment options, certainly medication wise and so have elected to try this. It is hopefully my last treatment attempt as I have exhausted myself from 30 years trying to conquer the beast. I am ready to call it quits if TMS is not successful...Wish me well.

What kind of TMS are you having? Is it the original Neurostar machine or the newer Brainsway deep TMS?
Are you remaining on medication?

Hi Scott, on the alternative board now, rare for me...all my answers to your questions are back on the med board.
Not deep TMS, Neurostar brand, 30 daily treatments followed by taper, $12,000.
A book by a former patient by the name of Martha Rhodes called "3,000 pulses" outlines her experience with TMS in 2011. She is now a Neurostar advocate and I will calll her to ask about her recovery since then.
Talk to you later.
