Apparently saffron has a history of also being used as an ad. In addition it might be safer than SJW. SJW appears to be contraindicated with almost any drug that interacts with the liver which is most drugs. Saffron appears to not have that liability and may be just as efficient. A couple companies now make an extract for that purpose. One is Life Extension and the link I will print out.
Any info is appreciated. Is it worth trying or another dead end?saffrene.com

It will likely be as good as anything cooked up in a lab in the last 40 years.

Which of course it is.
What's it like?
Well, not like SAMe, perhaps more like St John's Wort?
A serotonin feel, I think, a bit of a yellow swimmy feeling.
This is the end of the thread.
