Has anyone tried both? I've had some good results with Sam-e. I take the Nature Made brand 400mg a day. I would like to give St. Johns Wort a try, but don't want to give up the Sam-e because since I started Sam-e I can walk and run almost normal. On days I forget to take Sam-e I have less energy and walk very carefully to avoid knee pain. Sam-e is not quite powerful enough to stop my depression, but it does help. Can SJW and Sam-e be combined?

Yep, I have combined both many times with no problems.
The combo can be a little stimulating, but if you have a low energy type mood disorder then it may fit the bill.
I found 600mgs. of SJW in the morning, along with 400mgs. SAM-e morning and night, to be quite nice.
Take care,

The best SJW brands are Perika, Kira, New Chapter's Serofin and SC27, and Vitamin Shoppe Brand. You may have to do a few trial runs before you find what works best for you. They can all work in different ways much like SSRIs do. Hopefully you find the one that works great on the first try.
