Omega 3 and acne- when will the effect go away?

I have experienced a problem with fish oil / Omega 3. I stopped taking Omega 3 over a year ago but my face seems to be permanently more oily and acne prone than it was before.
Does anyone know when this acne effect from the Omega 3 will go away?
