I'm up to 3 fish oil capsules and 3 borage oil capsules per day. My mood and energy levels seem to be improved. It took me 3-4 weeks to get used to a high dosage of essential fatty acids, both omega-3 and omega-6. Initially, I started off with 1 fish capsule and 2 borage oil capsules, but over 3-4 weeks noticed that I needed an increased dosage of fish oil for improving mood. The oils take some getting used to in the beginning. I also supplement with vitamin C because it seems to work well with the oils, about 1500mg per day. I take the oils three times per day:
Morning: 1 fish and 1 borage oil capsule
Early Afternoon: 1 borage oil capsule
Late afternoon: 1 borage and 1 fish capsule
Bedtime: 1 fish capsuleHope this info. is helpful for some of you:)

In reply to Borage and fish oils for bipolar, posted by Lao Tzu on June 23, 2008, at 9:32:28
I am family doctor in Dublin and I attended a course in Sydney run by Pfeiffer Center (www.hriptc.org) from Chicago who specialise in getting the body`s chemistry to work properly.I have found that their methods work well for most of my patients. For those with bipolar, which is complex, I would regard it as a very good investment for about half of them.
