Has anyone tried out l-lysine + l-arginine for
anxiety? I'm giving it a try.

I know nothing about these amino acids except that in treating heavy metal toxic folks they can be very helpful for a wide range of symptoms.

Well, I take Lysine (tendency toward cold sores) and I'm basically a wreck.

For some reason I have high levels of arginine relative to lysine.

I've never had a cold sore, can't seem to get them.. not that I'm complaining:) Strange really how we are all different
Maybe that's why lysine had nil effect(good or bad) for me though. I think I tried it for hair as well as its other possible benefits.. still no effect on hair

It hasn't helped me keep my hair either :)

A couple of tidbits:

Since Lysine and Arginine compete with one another, the body building crowd (they use the combo for Growth Hormone release) often takes Arginine in the form of Arginine Pyroglutamate, since it doesn't compete with Lysine.

I can't remember where I read about this, I'm pretty sure it was from the Life Extension Foundation, but I can't find the reference. It was that Arginine taken with co-factors of B5 and Choline acts like a weak SSRI.

hope this helps.
