TYROSINE really enhance dopamine level?

Posted by eve70 on July 18, 2007, at 20:47:19

Hi,
I've read in lot of sites (and in this board too) that Tyrosine is a precursor of Dopamine, and so it is supposed to enhance dopamine in the brain.
So, people that have a lack in the level dopamine (i am one of them) could have a positive effects using this supplement.
Before give a try to this substance, i would like to know if anyone have had really good experience with tyrosine .... or it is only another product that make you wasting money?
If you have experience or opinion please share them!
Many thanx in advance for you help!
evelyn

Maybe it does. I think I found that.

There's also mucana pruriens.

Really? How did you find out?
Tyrosine can give you a boost, but if used regularly, the brain will down-regulate and the effect is diminished over time. As always. The brain can't out-smart itself.

Well, that might be right about the down regulation thing, I guess.

What about low dose deprenyl?

Hi,
thank for your replay.
Unfortunely Deprenyl is not available in my country; About mucana pruriens i must say that don't know anyting about this supplement and don't know how it works.
Basically, i think, all substances that increase dopamine give an initial boost and a consequent down regulation. I think it has something to do with the tolerance developed in the dopamine receptors. In my personal experience, Amisulpride at low dosage, worked (for me) exactly in that way.
Bye
Evelyn.
