something's making me fat...green tea? magnesium?

Posted by qqqsimmons on November 16, 2006, at 11:26:15

i've gained almost ten pounds in a month after starting decaf green tea and magnesium after being underweight for years...

i realize that many folks say green tea causes more "thermogenesis" (heat production burning fat), but i believe it also slows the thyroid. i'm not sure which factor wins out in the end.

i think magnesium may help degrade adrenaline, and less adrenaline may mean slower metabolism.

or maybe i'm just eating a lot more, and being less active. am i full of it or does this make sense?

I would say it could be the mag, that would slow you down abit

If it is the mag or green tea that's causing it, you're an extremely rare case. More than likely you're just eating more (or taking new meds?). That's just my opinion.
