I havent had any caffeine for the last 2 weeks and Iv noticed subtle improvements in my mood and anxiety. The most noticeabble is less nervousness in public like at the mall or supermarket. The other is less racing thoughts and less sugar craving. I read an article on Pubmed that caffeine can antagonize certain effects of antidepressants. For example, in the frontal cortex Celexa inhibits glutamate and aspartate release, caffeine counteracts this. Im hoping caffeine elimination will make meds more potent. The first week without caffeine was tough, but I supplemented with some SAM-E and extra B vitamins to obvercome fatigue. I really did have cravings. My brain wanted a coke so bad. How many people here consume caffeine? We should take a Poll.
This is the end of the thread.
