Any help would be appreciated.
I was taking Wellbutrin for depression and Xanax for anxiety for the past year and a half, and felt pretty good on it. I tried several SSRIs over the past 10 years with not as much success as Wellbutrin. Then I had the bright idea to stop the Wellbutrin, thinking I didn't need it any more. I felt good for a few weeks after, but now I need help again.
My question now is, do I go back on the Wellbutrin, or should I try tyrosine or phenylalanine first? What are the differences, preferences, drawbacks, etc?

Tyrosine's effects are more stimulant-esque, meaning the effects are acute and you go through a mini withdrawal after the effects wear off. I don't believe wellbutrin has any ups or downs like that. Plus, it made you feel good at one point, so why not go back on it?

Thanks for the info.
Wellbutrin did increase my blood pressure, but since my blood pressure was on the low side before, that wasn't a major problem. I went from around 115/75 up about 5-10 points. My blood pressure did drop back down to normal again after going off Wellbutrin.
I also started sleeping better after going off of the Wellbutrin. Insomnia has been a big battle for me, even with Xanax.
But my major concerns are any lingering effects of being on a drug like Wellbutrin long-term(possible permanent downregulation, etc.).
So, since I have to start over anyway, it just seemed like an amino acid might be a better (more natural/less damaging) option. And, possibly, the amino acid could be fixing a problem that the Wellbutrin is just "band-aid"ing. I don't know. I just thought it was worth getting the advise of someone who knew more about it than I do.
This is the end of the thread.
