I have been combining extracts of fo-ti and turmeric for MAO inhibition. It certainly has an effect.

Linkadge, I don't have the book with me here, it is lost like a lot here, however I recall that polygonum multiflorum was effective in improving the condition of senile quails, presumably through MAO-A inhibition.
How much fo-ti do you take?
It's often included in chinese herbal sedative formulas.
Do you find it activating?Declan

I take about 1-3 g of fo ti.
I totally believe its claims of being an MAO-B inhibitor.
Whenever I have taken MAO-B inhibitors, kava, parnate, fo-ti, etc, it seems that when I jog, things really "brighten up".
If I jog normally it takes me about 1.5 hours to get that vision brigtening effect (kind of like when I smoked wee bit of pot)
Whenever I have taken a med with purported MAO-B inhibitng effects I get that brighening effect within 10-15 minautes of jogging !!!
That feeling like you can see forever into the horizin.
I am just assuming that the PEA release from jogging is being amplified by the fo-ti etc.

Fo-ti may also increase the antioxidant SOD (like selegeline).
