Ok, diagnosed with BPII, depression and ADD (the triple crown as I like to say :-)). The lamictal has helped stabilize my mood but I've been left with fairly persistent low to mid-grade depression. In the past, before lamictal, I tried SAMe for this but I went 'nuts' on it and had to discontinue.
Well, thought I'd try it again today so I went out and got some jarrow and popped 400mg along with 2 tsp. of inositol (heard that had some good anxiety and mood elevating properties so what the hell, eh?) and now I am AMPED up! woowooowoo..
ok, ok,.. I may be a tad manic but I'm working like a son-of-a-bitch (finally, it's been 12 days since I could work well) so I ain't complaining.
Anyone else see this on SAMe? I'm thinking of lowering the dose to see if that helps modulate my 'amped-ness'.

I know on my box of Sam-e it states clearly that if you are bipolar, DO NOT take it because it can cause mania.

For some people inositol will make them manic too.

relaxed, depressed, angry - highly unstable.
Sam-e makes me nuts and makes my heart pound at night with insomnia. It also makes me laugh out loud at nothing.
Of course mania is good for working. But no way I want to go back to feeling that unstable ever again.
