Hi y'all! I've been working on stabilizing my bipolar with medications for the last year and a half...we've finally gotten it tweaked so that I'm doing pretty well! I still cycle back and forth every 2/3 months. I'm functioning well regardless. My highs are enjoyable but not too high, and my lows are characterized by low energy, low self-esteem and a groggy brain, but not terrible melancholy. So, I could go on like this without too much trouble...but I'm interested to know if there is anything I could do to stabilize myself even more. My pdoc thinks this is about as good as we'll get with meds, but it's still disconcerting to me to have such opposing ways of viewing the world...I still feel like Jeckel and Hyde. Is there any advice on alternative meds/therapies to stabilize my moods even more, especially the depression end?

Hi Maxime,
I am taking:
300 mg Lithium
150 mg Wellbutrin
15 mg Paxil
also 75 mcg Synthroid
The dangerous edge is gone from my mood swings, but I'm still cycling every couple of months. It's annoying and disruptive to my job/social life/spiritual life, etc. I'm embarrased because I used to work in a health food store, didn't let anything synthetic/toxic into my body, and look at me now. Now that I'm more stable and can focus better, I want to start introducing more natural mood stabilizers into my body. Any suggestions?
