Hi,
I started taking fish-oil again yesterday after a break lasting a half year. I took a full dose, two capsules, and after an hour or so i experienced severe 'head zaps' all day, you know when it feels like an electric shock when moving the head or eyes.
So today i only took one capsule but i still got the head zaps, it's not that it disturbs me so much and i guess it will pass, but i'm curious if anyone else has experienced something similar.
It's supposed to be quality oil from Norway(Peter Möller) and two capsules contains:
Omega-3 0,65g
DHA 0,26g
EPA 0,29g
A-vit 250ug
D-vit 5ug
E-vit 10mgLarry Hoover, maybe you can sort this out :-)
Kind regards,
Mattias

Are you taking anything else? Drugs? Supps?
I suspect a prostaglandin mechanism. Try taking some aspirin or ibuprofen with the fish oil, and see if that eliminates the zaps.

Hi Larry,
> Are you taking anything else? Drugs? Supps?
remeron 30mg, zoloft 50mg, klonopin 2-4mg. No supps, except that the juice i drink is added with vitamins, pretty small amounts though.

Try taking some aspirin or ibuprofen with the fish oil, and see if that eliminates the zaps.I actually took 400mg ibuprofen before i read your post because of head ache but it did nothing for my head zaps. Is there a clinical explanation for the mechanism behind the head zaps? What causes them? I get them pretty easily, when i have fever or if i'm totally exhausted after exercising.
Kind regards,
Mattias

Probably a stupid question, but have you discontinued any AD medication recently?
This is the end of the thread.
